Normandy and Apple Pie

Last Sunday we went to La Ferriere-aux Etangs in the Normandy region to visit Guilhem's Godmother, Fabienne. It was beautiful! It was in the country and it was super green! It was about 5 minutes away from a city (I forget the name) that was built in medieval times. You could see some old ruins and it was awesome! We had lunch and they showed us around their yard a little bit. Fabienne's husband, Thierry, makes apple and pear juice and alcohol. He showed us around his work area and explained how it was done....in French....so I don't know what he said. He also has about 35 cows. I tried some of his pear juice at lunch and it was really good. When I left they asked if I wanted to come back to work for them. As long as they paid me in bottles of pear juice. :)
When they built this house they took stones from the cemetary.
The one above the door is dated from 1627.

They also have 2 bunnies.

The apple pile

Machine for the bottles...I think.

Today I made apple pie. I made it with Jennifer(she is a master baker) a few weeks ago and it was soooo good that I had to attempt to make it on my own. I think it's probably the best thing I have ever made. Guilhem, Marie-Faustine, and I had a lot of fun making it!

The end result!
