I slightly electrocuted myself today. I didn't realize it at first, but here is the story: First of all, the plugs here in France are different than in America. The metal prongs are a lot longer and further apart. Anyways, I was unplugging my straightener and it didn't want to come off so I put my hand closer to the edge of the plug and tugged at it. It came off pretty fast but my fingers slipped and touched the metal prongs. It all happened so fast. I felt a pain in my hand and my first thoughts were, "Ouch, that hurt. What happened? I think I just slightly electrocuted myself. Yup, I just electrocuted myself." I was home alone so I had no one to tell so they could make fun of me. So...my first electrocution was in France. Awesome. If it had to happen, I would prefer it to happen in France. I did come close to being electrocuted in America though. I think all of you that know me knows exactly what I am referring to. For those of you who don't, I'm sorry but this is a blog about me in France. So you won't get to hear my embarrassing story. But I will say that in junior high I got the award, "Most likely to think she went blind when the lights turned off."

I got sick this week. My first cold in France. I hate being sick, it makes me just want to stay in my bed but I'm in FRANCE!!! I can't sit around when I could be walking around in France! Duh! So, I dropped the kids off at school, came back and slept a bit. Then I studied some French. The house cleaner came and I tried to talk to her in French. It didn't work out very well, but at least I tried. Then I got sick of sitting in the house and went to walk around the city. I was suppose to go pick up my credit card from the bank so I attempted to do that. The receptionist didn't speak English and I don't speak French. So you can imagine how that went. It was kinda funny to try and figure out what we were saying to each other. I had a sentence all ready before I got there and apparently it was wrong or I said it wrong because she didn't understand. After a while she said that her co-worker spoke English so I waited for her to translate everything and it all worked out in the end.
