Rennes Again

Sadly I had to say goodbye to the ocean and St. Malo for awhile. On Sunday Aymeric and I took the train back to Rennes. It only took about an hour and I got to enjoy the scenery and Aymeric translating what the train conductor was saying. This train is what I'll be taking when I want to spend the weekend with Annalise in St. Malo. So on Sunday I got to meet the two youngest kids, Marie-Faustine and Guilheim. And I must say that they are just as much fun as the two older kids. This is going to be such a great year! I get to spend a whole year with such a great family!

Marie-Faustine and Guilheim

So on Monday we went to the park, played games, ate lunch, played more games, read books, and played some more games! Aymeric went back to St. Malo Monday night so I get to spend the whole week with Marie-Faustine and Guilheim. They have so much energy and they are always wanting to run around and play outside. Guilheim just turned 7 and he especially likes to play all sorts of boardgames, and he wins the majority of the time. Marie-Faustine just turned 3 and she talks more than any 3 year old I've met. Of course most of the time I don't know what she is saying but she seriously is the cutest little girl! It's so hard to keep a straight face when she is trying to ask me something or tell me a story because I don't know what she is saying and I don't know what to say back! Usually I'll just say, "Vraiment?" Which means, "Really?" And she usually just says yes. She is always copying what her brother says or does, and it's the best when she tries to say something in English. I've taught her, "Uh-oh spaghettios," and " Oops-a-daisies." I'm suppose to try to just talk to her in french because she is in a bi-lingual school and she's suppose to know English. She doesn't know English, and she starts school on Monday.....
This picture pretty much sums them up! :)

We've gone to the park everyday this week and we've played almost every game they have, which is a lot. Aymeric's favorite game is Monopoly, and we all know how long that one lasts for! I need to start being more creative and find something else for us to do. I told them we would do some kind of craft tomorrow so I need to do some internet surfing tonight. We went to the park today and had our "gouter" (snack) there. Another thing that's really cool about France is that they have ping pong tables at there parks!! It's so awesome!!! Today I tried to play ping pong with Marie-Faustine...once again, she's 3. So it was pretty much her playing by herself.

Yesterday I went running with Marie-Berengere along the canal. She wanted to show me where a good place to go running would be. It was so pretty. I still can't get over how green it is here. I love it!! Hopefully soon I will have more time to go running! Oh I forgot a really funny thing. Apparently Marie-Faustine has a nickname for me already. Instead of saying Brooke....she kinda says Brooke-awnt. haha, I wish you could just hear it cuz it's hard to explain, but you get the point.
