Bonjour, je m'appelle Brooke. Je suis Americaine. That is basically what I learned in my first french lesson. I have lessons 8 hours per week! We wanted to try and only do 4 hours a week but it didn't work out so we are hoping by the end of the module in January that I won't need to take anymore lessons. How sweet would that be!!?? I can't wait until January. So, in my class there are four other students. They are from Germany, Brazil, Austria, Thailand, and New York. They all are really nice and we have fun not know what's going on. (The lessons are entirely in French. :) ) When I told the lady from New York where I was from she was like, "Oh, the Mormons." haha. Oh, and she mentioned the Salt Flats as well. At least people are aware that Utah exist. So everyone knows English which makes it really nice. But, I like my teacher a lot and I think I will learn a bunch! Hopefully.
Yesterday we made some macaroons. They did not turn out at all like they looked on the box. But they still liked them. Phew! I really need to practice my cooking skills. I'm making a goal to cook something new on my day off during the week. I would love, love, love any recipe suggestions! Here are the pictures of the macaroons. By the way, Aymeric and Guilhem took all of these pictures. They are excellent photographers!
So I decided to help myself learn to write in French that I will end each blog post with a sentence in French without using any help. And if any of you know French, please correct me! Merci! So here is the first one:
Aujourd'hui dans ma classe il y a une femme et elle parle toujours en anglais, mais la professeur dit, "En francais, en francais!" Mais elle continuer en englais!
